ShadowX URL HTTP-header consistency check
Review status, caching, security and robots headers for ShadowX URL information pages. This guide treats ShadowX and ShadowX Market search terms as research labels, not as proof that a destination is official or safe.
Start with response status
Confirm canonical pages return 200, missing pages return 404 and HTTP requests redirect once to HTTPS. Avoid soft 404 responses that display an error with status 200.
Record the final URL after redirects.
Review crawler controls
Compare the HTML robots directive, X-Robots-Tag header and robots.txt rules. Public pages should not be blocked by a copied admin policy.
Admin and recovery routes should remain noindex.
Check security and caching
Inspect HSTS, CSP, content-type and referrer policy alongside Cache-Control. These controls support safe delivery but do not verify an external ShadowX destination.
Use a short cache for frequently edited status content when appropriate.
Test representative templates
Check the homepage, guide index, article, policy page, admin page and missing route. Template-level errors can affect many URLs at once.
Re-run the live audit after every production deployment.
Frequently asked questions
Should a custom 404 return HTTP 200?
No. It should display helpful content while returning 404.
Do security headers prove a ShadowX link is legitimate?
No. They protect delivery of this site and do not establish external ownership.
